Vivid and boundless fruity aromas and flavors initially and then right at the end, bingo, some Concord! Whoa!! Category: Red Blend Alcohol: 9.50% Castello del Poggio 9 out of 10 points Category: Sparkling Sweet White Alcohol: 7% alcohol Sweet scents of peaches and exotic fruit. Interesting Facts: The estate lies entirely within the Monferrato area in the Province of Asti, one of Piedmont’s finest wine zones. 80% of its vineyards are in the district of Portacomaro, whilst 20% are at Costigliole d’Asti. The Monferrato is quite unlike any other viticultural region: here the vineyards alternate with woodland and fields, and there is great variation in the zone’s hillsides, even in the colour of their soils. It takes its name from the medieval stronghold that dominates it, and which once belonged to the noble Bunéis family. Its northern part is today still referred to, in dialect, as the Val del Temp (which means Valley of the Temple) because the Templars had properties there, as testified by the Codex Astensis, the only authenticated record of events in Asti during the Middle Ages. The last surviving member of the Bunéis family left the estate in his will to the Bishop of Acqui who often summered there in the 18th century. Muscat / Moscato Alluringly aromatic and delightful, Muscat never takes itself too seriously. Muscat is actually an umbrella name for a diverse set of grapes, some of which are genetically related and some of which, are not. The two most important versions are the noble, Muscat blanc à Petits Grains, making wines of considerable quality and Muscat of Alexandria, thought to be a progeny of the former. Both are grown throughout the world and can be made in a wide range of styles from dry to sweet, still to sparkling and even fortified. It is well known in Italy's Piedmont region for Moscato d’Asti, a slightly sparkling, semi-sweet, refreshing wine that is low in alcohol. On the Iberian peninsula, it goes by Moscatel, not to be confused with Bordeaux's Muscadelle, which is acutally unrelated. In the Glass: Muscat wines possess marked aromatics and flavors of peach, pear, Meyer lemon, orange, orange blossom, rose petal, jasmine, honeysuckle or lychee, often with a hint of sweet spice. Perfect Pairings Thanks to its naturally low alcohol levels, Muscat is a perfect match for spicy Asian cuisine, especially when the wine has a little bit of residual sugar. Off-dry Muscat can work well with lighter desserts like key lime pie and lemon meringue, while fully sweet Muscat-based dessert wines are enjoyable after dinner with an assortment of cheeses. Sommelier Secret Muscat is one of the oldest known grape varieties, dating as far back as the days of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Pliny the Elder wrote in the 13th century of a sweet, perfumed grape variety so attractive to bees that he referred to it as uva apiana, or “grape of the bees.” Most likely, he was describing one of the Muscat varieties.

I am one whom does not like the sweet tasting sauces, but prefer a natural tomato taste.
This is a antique recipe (around 24 years I am estimating), it comes to you from a book I dug out of my old closet. This recipe is from the small Church & School in my hometown, let me know if you enjoy it! St. John's Spaghetti and Pizza Sauce 3 c. Tomato Paste 4 c. Water 1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt 2 Tbsp. Oregano 3 Tbsp. Chili Powder 1/2 c. Sugar Mix all the ingredients together and simmer. For spaghetti: Add 2 pounds browned beef and spaghetti: simmer for 15 minutes. For Pizza: Add 2 pounds browned beef and spread on pizza.
As a tea drinker I find myself wondering if anyone else has these issues with tea bags in general! I was lucky enough to receive a collection from Collect Teables to try and review for FREE!

What is Matcha? Matcha is a fine green tea powder used for drinking or cooking. It is different from loose leaf teas because the whole tea leaf is consumed instead of just the infusion. Matcha comes from the plant Camellia Sinensis.
Looking for Matcha for your tea needs? I have never been a fan of drinking straight matcha like the directions suggest of Midori Springs Ceremonial Emerald Matcha. Matcha is one of those products that you love or hate. I am a huge tea drinker and my favorite flavor is green tea and jasmine, when I steep my tea I add a little of the matcha for the health benefits, when I release my tea into the glass with my steeper the mixture becomes well blended as it is being filtered through a screen. This is the second jar of matcha that I have tried from this company, I find that the flavors are always fresh. I was glad to receive this product at a discounted rate or free in exchange for my honest opinion because of recent concerns with my normal go to tea Company having pesticides in their tea! I have been searching for a new supplier of my tea.
What are the differences in grades of matcha tea?
Ceremonial can range from the most premium quality to most economical. During production the tencha leaves are sorted by colour (darker green to lighter green). Gold Class uses the darkest tencha leaves (best) while Emerald Class uses a blend of dark tencha leaves (great). Light tencha leaves are used for Culinary grade and will taste bitter and not smooth. Which should I use? For tea brews, they highly recommend the Gold Class. If you want to make Matcha smoothies, lattes, or incorporate into different recipes, we recommend Emerald Class. Again, Emerald Class is NOT a cooking grade, it is Ceremonial and still tastes wonderful as a tea brew. Is the matcha Organic, Kosher, Or Vegan? Both Gold and Emerald Class are certified Organic, Kosher & Vegan. Both are GMO, Gluten, Soy, Dairy Free. How should I store my Matcha in the fridge after opening? Once opened, Matcha should be stored in the fridge to maintain optimal freshness OR stored in a cool, dry place. Make sure the lid is closed tightly. Do not leave the tin out too long in room temperature when scooping out the Matcha. My Matcha is no longer a vibrant emerald green color like when I first opened the tin. Once opened, the chlorophyll (which gives Matcha it’s vibrant emerald green color) starts to oxidize causing the Matcha to yellow/brown over time. The oxidization happens naturally and the Matcha is still safe to drink. Once opened the Matcha should be kept in the fridge and consumed as quickly as possible (within 3 months for optimal freshness). What are the health benefits from matcha? There are endless health benefits when it comes to drinking Matcha. Some of the top health benefits:

I looked around for several weeks trying to find a great alternative to my fabric oven mitts that were really trying my patience.
I have so many issues with the traditional oven mitt, due to my small hands when trying to grab any type of baking sheet I would always touch the food. I wanted silicone gloves this time due to the sanitary options they offer, and how easy they are to clean compared to the traditional oven mitt made of fabric. These arrived in a very nice package, then they are sealed inside the box. This is a very nice feature that I hadn't seen at the local stores. The nice packaging makes these silicone oven gloves perfect for gifts for birthdays in the summer month, or a gift to your favorite cook; plus they can easily be wrapped up. These make removing the hot and ever so heavy baking stones out of the oven a breeze! I do have to use both hands to lift the baking stone out, with the gloves I can easily grasp the stone to lift it out; instead of calling for my husband to help me :) I definitely recommend these, I was thrilled when I noticed the tiny hearts on the gloves for the grip. The silicone gloves easily washed off with soap and water, I actually washed my hands with them on to get them clean. They dry quickly too, I have been in a predicament before that all my fabric mitts were in the wash, and I needed them. A nice added benefit is they can be used with grilling, I am always afraid of the fabric mitts catching fire from jumping flames, not with these! Get your pair here: http://amzn.to/1KfkeMz

Looking for Matcha for your tea needs? I have never been a fan of drinking straight matcha like the directions suggest of Midori Springs Matcha. Matcha is one of those products that you love or hate. It offers a ton of health benefits in just a small serving.
I am a huge tea drinker and my favorite flavor is green tea and jasmine, when I steep my tea I add a little of the matcha for the health benefits, when I release my tea into the glass with my steeper the mixture becomes well blended as it is being filtered through a screen. I find that the rock sugar actually produces a sweeter taste with less of the product compared to traditional sugar. I also use honey as a sweetener for bitter or black teas. I find that white sugar just doesn’t pair well to bring out flavors in any tea and leave that sugar for coffee. Honey is significant sweet so a little does go along way when adding to your drink, I usually end up with a half of teaspoon to a teaspoon with a 10 oz glass of tea. This matcha is definately worth trying, I recommend start out by mixing it into another product if this is your first time trying it. I was glad to receive this product at a discounted rate or free in exchange for my honest opinion because of recent concerns with my normal go to tea Company having pesticides in their tea! I have been searching for a new supplier of my tea. Get yours here
Thanksgiving is a very stressful day for me with cooking the turkey, I hate opening the oven because it lets heat out leaving you with inaccurate readings for temperature.
I was glad to receive the thermometer and meat claws at a discounted price or free in exchange for product testing and an honest review. I honestly thought that I would always have to be burned to make pulled pork. My hands are tiny and very sensitive and I hate touching the hot meat to break it apart. Using these made the task so much easier, the meat pulled apart quickly and I never got burnt from the hot meat. I will definitely be using this to help me cook some of my husband’s favorite foods. I had tried to always put off cooking pulled pork in the past because I knew what all was entailed. The claw fits my small hands perfect, and is even large enough for larger hands like my husbands. I recommend ordering this set, Thanksgiving will be so much easier and you can easily pull apart meat without being burnt. You can get your set here
I was really excited when the lovely people at Enjoying Tea contacted me to review and try a tea sampler on them! They must know that I am a devoted tea drinker.
In fact I am a daily tea drinker, and no I do not mean Lipton or any other brand from the supermarket. I drink tea for the beneficial factors, plus it is a great alternative to soft drinks and coffee. There are many benefits from choosing to drink tea, you can view many of them here at this website them here: http://www.webmd.com/diet/tea-types-and-their-health-benefits Tea can also be prepared many ways, I find making a larger amount fits my needs better than the traditional 1 glass tea bags. I like to purchase loose tea so that I can use my large steeper.
My Favorite
These are the 6 teas that I received to try: Jasmine Green Tea http://www.enjoyingtea.com/jasgreentea.html Jasmine green is my daily go to choice, I love the light flavor the honeysuckle aromas of jasmine. I like to drink this tea medium warm. I often brew a large batch and take this with me to go in the car or office. Keemun Black Tea http://www.enjoyingtea.com/keemblacteaq.html I am just now experimenting with black teas as I have always thought they would taste like drinking straight coffee bitter and yuck. But I was wrong, brewing this I noticed a sweet orchid aroma and a dark orange color. The first time I made this I drank it warm and the second time I drank it hot with honey, drinking it hot is my preferred tempature. Roasted Mate Chai http://www.enjoyingtea.com/romach1.html This tea has some of the following ingredients: roasted yerba mate, ginger, cardamom, coriander, cinnamon, and black pepper. Chai is amazing but unfortunately I am allergic to certain spices most commonly in Chai. I did not test this out but the smell is amazing, I am going to email the company to get the full ingredients before trying this one. Earl Grey Black Tea http://www.enjoyingtea.com/eagrbltea.html The first time I tried Earl Grey from another tea vendor it was horrible, I could not even finish the drink. This time I tried the Earl Grey I found that it was not bitter, or harsh. The citrus flavor is easily identified and makes this tea great iced on a hot day. Organic Slimming Oolong Tea http://www.enjoyingtea.com/orslootea.html I love Oolong tea, the tricky issue is finding the right brand for you. Some Oolongs can taste pretty much like soap, these typically are the cheap supermarket brands. I like to mix Oolong with Green tea the smooth taste, and nutty flavor leave you with an amazing aftertaste throughout the day as you drink it. I like to drink this mixture especially if I am sick or having sinus issues. The blend soothes these issues. Vanilla Rooibos http://www.enjoyingtea.com/vanillarooibos.html I had never tried the Vanilla Rooibus due to a horrible experience with a vanilla tea at Teavana. However I tried this tea expecting the worst, and yet I was very surprised. I recommend drinking this tea with the companies recommended dash of sugar and milk. Just don’t overdo it. This is a great evening relaxing tea. I shopped around on their website, they have amazing deals on tea pots and and accessories, check them out before heading to a pricey tea store. |
